Centenary Celebrations: 100 years of continued service!
Maharashtra State Women’s Council (MSWC) had its Centenary Celebration at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Apollo Bunder, Mumbai, on Wednesday, 6th February 2019. This was a very well attended event with over 130 invitees and guests present.
MSWC, founded in 1919, is one of the oldest NGOs in the country and has dedicated itself to working for the betterment of underprivileged and distress women and children since the last 102 years.
The Centenary Celebration, was graced by the Retd. Judge Supreme Court of India and Retd. Member, National Human Rights Commission, Smt. Sujata Manohar as the Chief Guest.
The President of MSWC Mrs. Leena Gokhale spoke about the enduring voluntary Character of the Council. The Vice President, Mrs. Fatema Merchant, Hon. Treasurer, Mrs. Rekha Joshi, the Trustees and Members of MSWC were also present on the occasion.
In September 2021, MSWC commissioned a coffee table book to commemorate the 100 years of its service and dedication. The book was launched by the trustees and oldest members of the Council Mrs. Apte and Ms. Muskati.
