Lotus Home

The MSWC also runs a residential facility for elderly women who use it for either short term or longer term requirements. The facility is a 16 bedded residence which is paid for in advance by the resident or by close relatives, and is a home away from home to several women over 65 years. Apart from well furnished and comfortable rooms, residents also use a common living area and a well equipped kitchen. Catering and housekeeping care are available at a nominal rate. Medical needs are looked after by visiting doctors and recreation in the form of regular indoor and outdoor programmes is also arranged.

While the Lotus Home is not a charitable institution, it is a facility in a city where safe homes for the elderly are not easily available and in that it fulfills a much needed gap.
